Their visuals consisted mostly of posters put up all around the school, as well as standing signs, as shown in the second picture above - that would lead their visitors to the right place. They also had a giant red balloon that was very eye-catching, but also very hard to take a picture of as it kept swaying in the wind. Why?</strong></p> <p>The visuals on the screens gave me the deepest impression of the whole event, as it was one of the first visuals you see when you enter the school. It’s also really big and contains pictures of their students.</p> <div>5. <strong>Among the 2 poly open house visuals, which do you think is more successful? Why?</strong></div> <div>Among the 2 open houses I think Singapore Poly’s visuals were more successful as it had more of a message as compared to TP’s. SP+U implied that the school cared about its potential students, whereas TP did not really have a message of that sort.</div> <div></div> <div>6. <strong>What have you learned from this exercise? (Visual Communication and Integrated marketing communication perspective). Please explain.</strong></div> <div>I’ve learned that the visuals of an event play an important role in attracting visitors and potential students. It also plays a part in conveying the school’s message and the image they want to portray to their potential students. Hence, I’ve learned that visuals can either make or break an event, and that it’s designs must be carefully thought out, so as to make sure they are uniform throughout the event.</div> <div></div> <div>Nevertheless, visuals aren’t all that attracts potential students to the schools. They are everywhere and are hard to miss. Why?</b><br/> The SP open house is more successful especial in terms of visual communication. There are more visuals and the message of these visuals really sinks in. Also the theme ‘+U’ really gives a sense of belonging to the school. <br/><br/><b>What have you leaned from this exercise? (Visual Communication and Integrated marketing communication perspective). Please explain</b><br/> I strongly feel that themes play a great part in events such as open houses. Visuals supporting the theme are also important. In this case, visuals help the school convey the intended message to potential students. Uniformity of the visuals and the message is also important so as to not confuse the students/parents. A lot of planning has to be done for it to be successful. However, visual communication isn’t everything.
